Update from the Waterville Board of Education - September 9, 2024
At their meeting on September 9, 2024, the Waterville Board of Education unanimously voted to adopt language, formally charging the Superintendent of Schools with embarking on a one-year Strategic Planning Process. Please refer to this page for the latest updates, schedule of upcoming events, and meeting information.
The Charge
The Strategic Planning Team (SPT) will include representation of the WPS Board of Education, WPS administrators, faculty, staff, parents, and community representatives. The SPT will develop a five-year strategic plan for WPS to include, at a minimum:
A statement of the district’s mission and core beliefs, and
Identified goals and action steps toward meeting those goals.
The SPT will engage the community and staff in the planning process, will report on progress at Board meetings each month, and will present a draft plan for the Board’s review, input, and eventual approval by their final meeting of the 2024-25 school year. The Board reserves the authority to edit, approve, and distribute the Strategic Plan.
